We are looking for a talented writer with exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills to create non-commercial content that educates, informs and entertains. As a valued member of our content team, you will create high-quality content that readers will truly enjoy.
The content writer will create one to two+ blog posts per week for the home and garden niche. Prior experience writing about plumbing, real estate, and personal insurance is an asset. Blog posts will be between 1,000 and 1,500+ words, depending on the topic.
Responsibilities
- Research industry-related topics
- Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms
- Create and distribute marketing copy to advertise our company and products
- Interview industry professionals and incorporate their views in blog posts
- Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
- Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content
- Promote content on social networks and monitor engagement (e.g. comments and shares)
- Identify customers’ needs and recommend new topics
- Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles
- Measure web traffic to content (e.g. conversion and bounce rates)
- Update our websites as needed
- Review content brief and prepare ideas and topics
- Research industry-related topics
- Write content that meets requirements
- Proofread and edit content
- Submit work for input and approval
Requirements
- Must have in-depth knowledge of niche/industry or be able to research and write about it at an advanced level
- Superior grammar skills and high attention to detail
- Advanced English writing skills
- University degree or college diploma preferably in journalism, public relations, English, or marketing.
- 2+ years experience in a related field in writing, communications, or content capacity (agency or other professional experience)
